Welcome to The Bend & Blossom Method: Yoga for Women's Health

This training is a deep dive into Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, Incontinence, Pelvic Organ Prolapse, and why women may begin lose continence as they age and at other key life stages to be truly out in the open and common-place.

It is an 85 hour in-depth comprehensive course that includes two weekends of classroom time. Bend & Blossom is an is an 85-Hour Training and registered Prenatal Yoga School with Yoga Alliance. Upon completion, teachers have the option of applying CEU credits.


Note: You have the option of attending one weekend or both.

In this course, we will explore yoga and movement for the Pelvic Floor and Core muscles through the lifespan of women.

IT’S TIME for EVERY movement, fitness and wellness professional serving women to truly acknowledge the FUNDAMENTAL role Pelvic Health and well-being has in the life of their female clients and that without this fundamental part of the puzzle being in check, we’re actually trying to building a ‘strength and movement’ house on faulty foundations!

The Curriculum

Module 1 (Weekend 1)

  • Stats on female incontinence and Pelvic Floor Dysfunction and why this subject is EVERY Movement and Fitness Professionals ‘business’.
  • Pelvic Anatomy and Function.
  • The Pelvic Floor in lumbar-pelvic stability, continence, organ support and sexual health.
  • The types of incontinence/bladder and bowel dysfunction.
  • Relationship of the Pelvic Floor to the rest of the Core including the Diaphragm and respiration.
  • Diastasis Recti and Pelvic Dysfunction
  • Cuing Pelvic Floor activation in asana.
  • Signs that indicate Pelvic Floor ‘weakness’ versus ‘overactivity’.
  • Alignment and Pelvic Dysfunction.
  • Simple strategies and resources for ‘downtraining’ a diagnosed ‘overactive’ Pelvic Floor.
  • The types of Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP).
  • Training for Pelvic Floor co-ordination and full range of motion.
  • Constipation, lifting, toileting and pressure management for life!
  • How to screen your clients for PFD including types of incontinence – bladder, bowel, pelvic pain, ortho dysfunction and POP
  • What are the ‘Pelvic Health Red Flags’? When to refer out? To whom? How establish links with clinicians and create your referral network.

Module 2 (Weekend 2)

  • The Post Natal Core & Pelvic Floor
  • The Myofascial System During Pregnancy into the Post Natal Period
  • The Birthing Processes and Implications for Post Natal Recovery
  • In-depth Post Natal Pre-Screening (including Pelvic Health Pre-Screening)
  • The Perfect Post Natal Initial Consultation.
  • How to Carry Out and Interpret a Simple Visual Alignment Assessment.

Module 3 (Weekend 2)

  • Performing/Assessing & Categorizing Post Natal Core Function – Diastasis, Breathing Patterns & Considerations/Strategies for the C-Section Client
  • Modern Integrated Movement Based Pelvic Floor Exercise
  • Hands on & off ‘Release Strategies’ and Dynamic Mobilizations for the Post Natal Client to Facilitate Core Restore.

Module 4 (Weekend 2)

  • The Crunchless Abs- Post Natal – Theory and Application of Modern Integrated Core Restore Post Birth
    2.  Holistic Diastasis Healing – Key Anatomy, Rationale and Targeted Exercise Prescription To Help Clients Back to Optimal Function
    3.  Holistic C-Section Recovery Reconnection & Scar-Tissue Strategies for the Post Natal Client
    4. Motherhood Movement, Practical Application & Programming – Modern Functional Training For REAL Moms with REAL lives.

Module 5 Birthing the Baby

  • Deep Nutrition for Post Natal Healing and Hormonal Balance
  • The Post Natal Endocrine System
  • Modern Fat Loss Protocols Tailored for the Post Natal Client

Module 6 Postnatal Yoga

  • Anatomy and physiology of postpartum period
  • Attachment theory
  • Regaining support and stabilization
  • Postnatal complaints including back pain, joint destabilization, weakness of abdominals and pelvic floor, neck and shoulder pain
  • Balancing the emotions and depression
  • Asana modifications, indicated and contraindicated poses
  • Postnatal Yoga Sadhana
  • Mindfulness practices for new mothers
  • Yoga and breastfeeding


Applicants MUST already have completed a 200 hour Yoga Alliance Yoga Teacher Training. Teacher Trainees are expected to already have obtained the knowledge of how to sequence a basic hatha yoga class, an understanding of alignment and be able to proficiently explain it, properly apply hands-on adjustments and comfortably take the seat of a teacher. Please do not apply if you have not completed a 200 hour training.

Refund Policy

Full payment is due as indicated before the manual and access to the membership website is given.

  • A non-refundable deposit of $550 is required to hold your space for both weekends in the program. The balance is due according to the tuition policy.
  • We accept cash, checks, Visa or MasterCard.
  • We charge a $25 returned check fee.
  • Refunds are available up to three weeks before the training begins minus your deposit.  The beginning of the training is marked by receiving access to the membership website which contains the manual and corresponding videos.  After this time NO refund or credit will be given if you decide not to attend.  Should you cancel your spot, the $550 deposit cannot be applied to a future training.
  • Once the training begins, if you decide not to continue for any reason, no refund or credit will be given.
  • We welcome pregnant students!  However, if your due date falls before the final exam or if your current work or life leaves little time for extracurricular activities, we strongly urge you to take the training later, when you have more time to devote to the coursework.  Due to the nature of the Teacher Training, we cannot accommodate missed modules.  Both weekend intensives need to be attended to complete the program.
